Would it be appropriate to talk to this girl?

I was in a car crash on Memorial Day of 2009 with my two friends Victor and Fredi. Fredi made an illegal U-turn into a driveway, and failed to use a turn signal. A man on a motorcycle was approaching us just as we were turning and he slammed into the side of our car. The man later died. I have always felt guilt about this incident, even though I wasn't the one driving the car. I have always thought,"If I hadn't asked them to give me a ride, this would have never happened." and things like that. I never got a chance to say anything to the family or even visit his funeral (I wasn't sure if it would've been appropriate.) Well, I was browsing through old issues of the newspaper and I found the article covering this, which linked me to the man's obituary-life story-funeral page (I don't know what it's called :P). It gave the name of his children, and I looked one of them up on Facebook. I would like to say something to his daughter, apologizing and such. I just have no idea what to say or where to start! Could somebody please help me? I feel so bad. Also, would it even be appropriate to approach her, or would it just bring her back painful memories?
