Does anyone know how to find death records/obituaries online for free? I mean really free...?

I am trying to find the death record of a friend's relative. We think he passed away in 2005 in Fort Worth, TX. I was hoping to find something online, but all the sites I go to that claim to be free in fact charge. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for replies.
