Will just bringing a credit card for my spending be fine for traveling to Rome, Italy?

Your credit card will work most places. Your ATM/Debit card will also work at their ATM's (make sure you let your bank know you are traveling) I personally get some cash converted when traveling, which you can do at any of the international airports on your way. You can also get it converted back on your way home if you don't use it.
